Mandala Reflection Worksheet
A private worksheet for exploring centered, circular, square, or fourfold imagery without assuming that symmetry proves wholeness or spiritual attainment.
Purpose
To explore the structure, center, boundary, asymmetry, personal associations, and cultural context of a mandala-like image.
Instructions
Copy the prompts into a private notebook. Describe the image, locate its context, gather personal associations, research cultural meaning, and return to the center without forcing a conclusion.
Privacy
This page does not collect, transmit, or store responses.
Important Disclaimer
Educational only. A centered image does not diagnose psychological integration or establish spiritual attainment, prophecy, or supernatural authority.
Reflect on a Mandala-Like Image
The Mandala Reflection Worksheet helps you examine centered or fourfold imagery while respecting personal and cultural context. Copy the prompts into a private notebook; the page stores nothing.
Describe Before Interpreting
- What is at the center?
- What surrounds or protects it?
- Is the form circular, square, fourfold, irregular, or incomplete?
- Where are openings, breaks, asymmetries, and boundaries?
- What colors, materials, figures, and movement appear?
Locate the Image
- Did it arise in a dream, drawing, ritual, artwork, or deliberate exercise?
- What conflict or transition preceded it?
- Did it feel stabilizing, confining, sacred, decorative, or threatening?
Personal Associations
List memories, places, beliefs, institutions, and bodily responses connected to the form. Do not replace these with Jungian language.
Cultural Context
If the image resembles a religious mandala, identify the actual tradition and consult reliable sources. Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Indigenous, and other sacred forms have meanings that Jungian psychology cannot absorb or replace.
Return to the Center
Ask what is being centered, what remains outside, and whether the boundary protects development or prevents contact. Use Circumambulation to revisit the image over time.
Caution
Symmetry does not prove integration, enlightenment, or a message from the Self. Treat conclusions as hypotheses and remain grounded in ordinary responsibilities.
